This handcrafted kuripe is a one-of-a-kind bamboo rapé self-applicator featuring a natural malachite centre stone set within a sculpted body. Each piece is individually made using bamboo and carefully selected materials, creating a functional tool that is also a small work of art.
The deep green body frames a polished oval malachite stone, known for its distinctive banded patterns. The stone is surrounded by carved lines sculpted directly into the body, creating a subtle radial pattern that draws attention to the centre.
Natural bamboo forms the structure of the kuripe, keeping the piece lightweight while providing a strong and durable base for the sculpted body and stone setting.
Kuripes are traditionally used as self-applicators for rapé (hapé), a finely powdered sacred tobacco used in various Amazonian traditions. This piece is offered simply as a handcrafted tool made with respect for those traditions.
Because each kuripe is handmade and uses natural stone, variations in colour and pattern are part of the character of the piece.
