Product Care

Each piece is handcrafted with care and made from a variety of natural, preserved, and artistic materials. Proper care will help ensure your items remain beautiful for years to come.

Jewellery Care

Many of our jewellery pieces feature preserved botanicals, resin, gold, stainless steel, and other carefully selected materials. While designed for everyday enjoyment, they are still wearable art and should be treated gently.

General Care

  • Store jewellery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid dropping or crushing pieces, as resin and preserved botanicals can be damaged by impact.
  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, or applying lotions, perfumes, and hairsprays.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and humidity.
  • Clean gently using a soft microfiber cloth.

Resin & Botanical Jewellery

Our resin jewellery contains real flowers, leaves, mushrooms, feathers, and other natural elements that have been carefully preserved by hand.

To help preserve your piece:

  • Store out of direct sunlight whenever possible.
  • Extended UV exposure can cause resin to yellow or fade over time.
  • Avoid excessive heat, including leaving jewellery in a hot vehicle.
  • Clean only with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
  • Avoid chemical cleaners, alcohol, acetone, or abrasive materials.
  • Keep away from prolonged moisture exposure.

Small variations, tiny bubbles, and natural differences in botanicals are part of the handmade nature of each piece and contribute to its uniqueness.

Gold-Plated Jewellery

Some pieces feature 14k, 18k, or 24k gold-plated components. Gold plating provides the appearance of solid gold while remaining lightweight and affordable.

Gold plating is a surface finish and will naturally experience wear over time. The lifespan of the plating can vary significantly depending on how often the piece is worn, individual skin chemistry, exposure to moisture, and contact with lotions, perfumes, sunscreen, and other products.

With proper care, gold-plated jewellery can maintain its finish for years of regular wear, or a lifetime of occasional wear.

To extend the life of your gold-plated pieces:

  • Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
  • Apply perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, and cosmetics before putting on your jewellery.
  • Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, cleaning products, and salt water.
  • Store pieces separately in a dry location to minimize scratching and friction.
  • Wipe gently with a soft microfiber cloth after wearing to remove oils and residue.

Avoid polishing compounds, metal cleaners, or abrasive jewellery cloths, as these can gradually remove the gold plating.

As with all plated jewellery, some soft fading of the finish over time is a normal part of wear and is not considered a defect. Many customers can enjoy their pieces for a long time by following the care recommendations above.

Stainless Steel Jewellery

Many pieces use stainless steel findings and components due to their durability and resistance to tarnishing.

While stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, some pieces may develop minor surface tarnishing over time depending on environmental conditions, body chemistry, humidity, or exposure to products such as lotions and perfumes.

To restore shine:

  • Wipe gently with a microfiber cloth.
  • For stubborn tarnish, use a jewellery polishing cloth designed for stainless steel.
  • If needed, wash metal components with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly before storage.
  • Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scrubbing.

Prints

Print care will vary depending on the specific printing method and materials used. Any special care requirements will be noted in the product description.

As a general guideline:

  • Display prints away from prolonged direct sunlight whenever possible.
  • While occasional sunlight exposure is perfectly normal, extended UV exposure can gradually fade colours over time.
  • For maximum longevity, display prints behind UV-protective glass or acrylic.
  • Avoid hanging prints in areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms.
  • Handle prints with clean, dry hands to prevent oils from transferring to the surface.

When stored properly, prints can maintain their colour and quality for many years.

Kuripés

Kuripés are handcrafted functional pieces and should be cleaned regularly to maintain their condition.

Cleaning

  • Never fully submerge your Kuripé in water.
  • Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the exterior surface.
  • Use a narrow cleaning brush, such as a straw-cleaning brush, to clean the inside of the tubes.
  • Allow all components to dry completely before use or storage.
  • Removing Build-Up

If residue accumulates inside the tubes:

  • Gently scrape away buildup using a blunt tool such as the back of a butter knife.
  • Avoid sharp tools that could damage the interior surfaces.
  • Clean again with a straw-cleaning brush after removing any buildup.

Storage

  • Store in a dry location.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.
  • Handle with care to prevent cracking or damage.
