Carved with intention, created for ceremony

A kuripe is a small, hand-carved pipe used in Amazonian tradition for the self-application of rapé, a sacred plant medicine. Its form creates a direct channel between breath and spirit, allowing the medicine to be received with intention. More than a tool, the kuripe is a companion in ceremony—an object that carries prayer, respect, and connection to the natural world.

The kuripes I create are shaped with this reverence in mind. Each one is carved with care, guided by the qualities of the material and the meaning that wishes to emerge. Symbols and textures are not merely decoration, but part of the story—a way of honouring ancestry and the unseen.

For me, crafting a kuripe is ceremony in itself: a slow, intentional process that transforms natural materials into vessels of spirit. Each piece is meant not only to be held, but to hold meaning.
